The Hardware : 

Electrolysis performance evaluation tool (EPET) V 5 - system brings together disparate devices into a unified harmony:

  • Precision Power Delivery: At the core of the setup are Thurlby Thandar Instruments (TTi) CPX400 series DC Power Supplies, specifically the CPX400DP (Dual 420-watt) and CPX400SP models.




  • Fluid Management: Electrolyte flow is meticulously managed by a REGLO digital peristaltic pump. Through the LabVIEW interface, the pump can be controlled either by direct rotor speed or by specifying the exact flow rate.




  • Driverless Thermal Monitoring: Temperature tracking is handled by Yoctopuce dual driverless thermocouple sensors, delivering precise thermal data directly to the central dashboard.





  • Automated Relay Control: For auxiliary controls, the system employs a Denkovi Assembly Electronics 4-channel USB relay board to safely switch heaters on and off.






EPET 5.0 Software Interface

Built on LabVIEW 15 (RTE required), the EPET 5.0 dashboard is designed with the researcher in mind, prioritizing safety and real-time visualization. Key features include:

  • Advanced Safety Limits: Researchers can establish strict voltage safety limits, which is highly useful when conducting constant current tests.

  • Automated Cycling: The software supports multiple repeats and cycles of current or voltage sweeps.

  • Real-time Visualization: As data is captured, EPET 5.0 generates real-time visualizations of polarization curves.

  • Integrated Controls: The UI includes built-in controls for the Yoctopuce temperature probes and the Denkovi heater relay switches.
